Media Release – Grant To Develop Better Liquid Foods At Carole Park

Trisco Foods, Pty Ltd at Carole Park has received a $712,604 grant through the Morrison government’s Cooperative Research Centres Project program to improve thickened liquid foods for dysphagia patients with swallowing disorders. 

Local Senator Paul Scarr welcomed the grant saying it would support research, development and production of safer, more nutritious and palatable liquid foods for *dysphagia sufferers.

Trisco Foods manager Mike Tristram said the Project would redress current inadequacies in the nutrition, palatability and safety of thickened food for dysphagia patients.

“We’re developing a new liquid foods and drinks with improved thickening agents to make them safer and more nutritious,” Mr Tristram said.

He said Trisco Foods would employ XXX and distribute nationally from the Carole Park factory.

Senator Scarr the project was one of 22 across Australia that will deliver innovative technologies and create job opportunities across priority manufacturing sectors.

“These projects will address challenges in our National Manufacturing Priority areas and lead to tangible outcomes to improve the competitiveness, productivity and sustainability of local industries, while growing the economy and creating new jobs,” Senator Scarr said.
