Ipswich Assist does a wonderful job throughout the year helping vulnerable individuals and families in our community.
Christmas is a time for goodwill and giving and over the next few weeks, the charity’s headquarters in South Street become a busy preparation, collection and distribution centre for Christmas hampers.
Pallets and cartons of donated food, toiletries, Christmas treats and gifts become beautiful hampers for those in need.
Senator Paul Scarr is again lending a hand to this Christmas appeal.
“Most years, Ipswich Assist distributes around 200 hampers. This year, the target is 300, and to help, I’m personally pledging $2500 to the appeal”.
“I’m asking everyone to get behind Ipswich Assist to support its Christmas Hamper appeal and its target of giving hampers to 300 needy families”, Senator Scarr said.
Senator Scarr is also sponsoring hospitality and cookery students and staff at Bundamba TAFE to prepare some gingerbread houses and trees, fruit cakes and mini gingerbread men to make these hampers extra special.
A donation of $25 will enable Ipswich Assist to bring some joy to a family in need. If you would like to help, please visit https://ipswichassist.org.au/support-ipswich-assist/
