Today in Senate Estimates, I asked Senator Wong a simple question: will Australian charities and not-for-profits be worse off as a result of Labor’s proposed trust tax changes?
Industry concerns remain that these changes could reduce charitable giving and impact the vital work charities and community organisations do across Australia.
Despite having another day to consider the issue, the Government would not provide a clear guarantee that charities and not-for-profits will not lose out.
Queensland charities, volunteers and community organisations deserve certainty, not ambiguity. I will continue seeking answers on behalf of the sector and the Australians who rely on its services
