It was an honour to be declared re-elected as a Senator for Queensland today.
At the declaration of the vote, I thanked the team at the AEC for their outstanding work throughout the election process. The role the AEC plays is pivotal to the integrity of our election system.
I am delighted that my dear friend and colleague Senator Susan McDonald was re-elected and has been reappointed as Shadow Minister for Resources and Northern Australia. No one works harder for Northern Australia.
To my fellow LNP Senate Candidates – Stuart Fraser, Sophia Li, Yvonne Tunney and Peter Zhuang. Thank you for your commitment. You could not have done any more. I also pay tribute to all LNP members and candidates in the House of Representatives.
I thank all of the LNP staff, supporters and volunteers for your tireless efforts.
We now have a deep obligation to work hard for all Queenslanders – holding the Albanese Labor Government to account, standing up for the interests of Queensland, and developing a suite of policies for the next election in accordance with the values of the LNP.
