Mareeba Shire Council Citizenship Ceremony

Today, we welcomed 16 new Australians to our national community in Mareeba in Far North Queensland.

Thank you to Mayor Angela Toppin AM for the invitation and Deputy Mayor Lenore Wyatt for being a great presiding officer on behalf of Mareeba Shire Council for hosting.

It was also great to meet Councillor Amy Braes and Councillor Mladen Bosnic.  David Kempton MP, the member for Cook was also in
attendance providing his support.

Our newest citizens came from New Zealand, Slovakia, the United Kingdom, Hong Kong, Brazil, Switzerland and Vietnam.

Mareeba is a proud multicultural community, with more than 70 languages spoken and over one in five residents born overseas.

Congratulations to our newest citizens on becoming Australians!
