Media Release – LNP To Deliver $50,000 For Westside Grovely Football Club

An elected Dutton Coalition Government will provide $50,000 from a revitalised Safer Communities Fund (SCF) to upgrade security at the Westside Grovely Football Club to update their security cameras covering the clubhouse, and to also update the internet access for its players members.

LNP Candidate for Ryan, Maggie Forrest said “Community spirit, friendship, family and teamwork are all the underlying principles of the Westside Grovely Football Club, which is why investing in this thriving club is an absolute must for the Coalition”.

“This funding is a direct response to the concerns raised by our community. I’ve heard firsthand from Ryan residents that safety is a priority, and we’re responding with practical measures to help make public spaces safer for everyone,” Maggie Forrest said.

President of Westside Grovely Football Club – Paul Anson said “As members of the Arana Sports Association, Westside Grovely Football Club is committed to the development of Junior Football. We offer development opportunities for our coaches, excellent playing facilities and access to training equipment so these upgrades are needed and very much welcomed by the entire club”.

Shadow Minister for Home Affairs and Cyber Security, Senator James Paterson said under a Dutton Coalition Government, the Ryan community will be stronger, more secure, and better supported to tackle crime.

“Getting Australia Back on Track means keeping Australia safe – safe for families, safe for businesses, and safe for communities,” Senator Paterson said.

“Projects delivered under the Safer Communities Fund will help protect local communities by ensuring they have appropriate security infrastructure in place such as CCTV cameras, alarm systems and security lighting.”

The revitalised SCF will build on the programme established by the previous Coalition Government, delivering grant funding to councils, schools, and local organisations to reduce crime and anti-social behaviour, enhance security around community spaces, and promote social cohesion.

This commitment is part of the Coalition’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get our country Back on Track.
