A Dutton LNP Government will provide $2 million towards the construction of a community centre by the Hazara Association of Queensland. The community centre will provide a multicultural hub for the growing Hazara community. The Hazara Association of Queensland will also make the community centre available to other community groups.
“The Logan region is one of the most multicultural areas of Australia,” LNP candidate for Rankin, Paul Darwen, said.
“Australia has provided a home for many Hazara people who have escaped persecution overseas. I am so impressed with how the community has progressed this project, and I am proud to announce that a Dutton LNP Government will contribute $2 million to construct the facility.”
Senator for Queensland, Paul Scarr said: “I have worked closely with the Queensland Hazara community, and I am inspired by their efforts to establish this community centre. The community has raised the funds to purchase the land and to nearly complete the civil works. This has been a grassroots community initiative. This commitment recognises those efforts.”
“By making this commitment, the Coalition is recognising the contribution made by the Hazara community of Queensland to our country. When completed this will be a facility which will be available for other community groups in the Logan area.”
This commitment is part of the LNP’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get our country back on track.
