An elected Coalition Government will provide $250,000 to the Ethnic Communities Council of Queensland to fast-track upgrades to ECCQ House ensuring they can boost their hosting capacity to further accommodate the needs of our Multicultural Communities for training, networking and meetings.
The Ethnic Communities Council was first established in 1976, working to represent the needs and goals of multicultural communities, aiming to promote a socially cohesive, equitable, respectful and multicultural Queensland through high-quality aged care services, health and employment programs.
Liberal National Party Candidate for Griffith, Anthony Bishop says “The Ethnic Communities Council Queensland has been on the ground in the Griffith Electorate, staying connected, listening and feeding back into our community, so it’s only right that an elected Coalition Government provide this funding”.
He continued “ECCQ has acted as a representative for culturally and linguistically diverse communities in Queensland for decades. This $250,000 will assist ECCQ to support community groups through larger workshops and meeting space, which will become available after these upgrades have finished”.
Senator for Queensland, Paul Scarr said “ECCQ continues to play an important role as a multicultural peak organisation. This significant commitment from an elected Coalition Government would mean more funding for ECCQ, so it can continue to host education and training workshops at ECCQ House”.
This commitment is part of the Coalition’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get our country Back on Track.
