This morning, I had the privilege of welcoming new citizens at the Ipswich Citizenship Ceremony.
Australia is strengthened by every new story, journey and contribution that becomes part of our shared national fabric.
As I say — not only did you find Australia, Australia found you.
A special thank you to Stephanie Smith — a vocalist with over 13 years’ experience and a proud member of the Flagstone Ipswich Choir who performed “My Island Home” and led us in the Australian National Anthem.
Her contribution made the ceremony even more meaningful as we welcomed more than 300 new citizens.
Congratulations to all who took the pledge today, and thank you for choosing Australia as your home.
