It’s that time of the year! The Ekka is back in town, and I couldn’t resist getting back to Brisbane Showgrounds this morning to get amongst all the action! Did you know that on average, over 400,000 people attend the EKKA over the 9 days? There is more than 21,000 competition entries from woodchop to giant vegetables, 10,000 animals from beef cattle to cats and dogs, world-class live entertainment, award-winning food, carnival rides and showbags. It was great to catch-up with Jon Krause MP, Member for Scenic Rim and chat to several wonderful stallholders in the John Reid Pavillion. These included Alcom Tint & Security, Jake’s Lollies, Ariat, Vegepods and Akubra. The best part of my day was helping one young Queenslander win himself a Mario while giving the Balloon Popping Game a crack inside Sideshow Alley!
