I was extremely honoured to accept an invitation last weekend to attend the University of Queensland PNG Student Association’s 50th Independence Day Anniversary Cultural Day. As someone who lived and worked in PNG between 1999 and 2001, I understand the significance of this event. A special thanks must go to Toowong Rotary who were a big supporter of the event. They also support important projects in PNG. The dance groups were fantastic (as always) and it was great to be in the esteemed company of PNG Consul General (Head of Mission) – Mr Reatau M. Rau. Thank-you to Brenda, Yaf, Cedric and their team for organizing such a great event.
