An elected Coalition Government will provide $80,000 to the Western Spirit Football Club to ensure they can upgrade their club training facilities with concrete grandstands and invest in higher fencing.
The Western Spirit Football Club was formed in 2005 after a merger between Goodna Soccer Club and Camira Soccer Club and currently boasts playing within Brisbane’s Premier League Division 1 Teams.
Liberal National Party Candidate for Oxley, Kevin Burns says, “The Western Spirit Football Club draws its members from right across the Oxley Electorate including Goodna, Camira, Springfield, Redbank Plains, Forest Lake, Inala and Greenbank, so investing in these sporting facility upgrades is a must”.
He continued “Even though Western Spirit FC is a relatively new club, they are already one of the largest clubs in Ipswich. These upgrades are much needed, and we’re responding with practical measures to help make these playing facilities the best they can be”.
Senator for Queensland, Paul Scarr said “Investing in this project will be beneficial for the Greater Ipswich region. It will help support a great club. The foundation of this club is a group of an inspirational group of volunteers.”
He continued “Western Spirit FC has tripled in numbers since 2020 so this investment is well worth it for the local community. We must maximise the opportunity for local young people from diverse backgrounds to participate in sport in the Oxley Electorate”.
This commitment is part of the Coalition’s plan to strengthen our local communities and get our country Back on Track.
