I was humbled to receive a Certificate of Appreciation and a commemorative book from the Vietnamese Community in Australia – Queensland Chapter.
Thank you to President Kieu Oanh Do and the entire community for your warm hospitality and for keeping this important history alive. It was an honour to attend the 13th Anniversary Commemoration of the Vietnamese Boat People Memorial at Captain Burke Park on Sunday morning, a solemn occasion to remember the courage of those who sought freedom and the compassion shown by Australia.
