One of the great honours bestowed upon us as elected representatives is being afforded the privilege to preside at Citizenship Ceremonies and yesterday was no exception!
A sincere thanks to Chairman of the Brisbane Lions, Andrew Wellington and CEO of the Brisbane Lions, Sam Graham for successfully putting on the 9th Annual Lions Citizenship Ceremony at The Gabba coinciding with the AFL Heritage Round.
We welcomed 44 new Australian Citizens yesterday who all got to watch the Lions take on the Swans!
Congratulations to all our new Australians! Sport is a wonderful vehicle for bringing people together!
A special thanks must also go to Melissa Naidoo and her team from Multicultural Australia. I look forward to attending again next year!
