Indian businesses abroad are being lured to Australia under a new and exciting Federal Government initiative. A new Global Business and Talent Attraction Taskforce will create jobs and attract Indian and other multi-cultural talent from overseas to support the post COVID-19 recovery.
The taskforce brings together experts from the public and private sectors as part of the Government’s JobMaker plan. Senior business leader, Peter Verwer AO, has been appointed as head of the taskforce. He says Australia is looking for global businesses and exceptional talent in manufacturing, financial services and health.
“We are aiming to attract Indian companies and workers and bring their talent to our shores as soon as possible,” Mr Verwer says.
“We will be leveraging our networks, including the Indian diaspora, to help identify opportunities and promote more jobs in Australia.”
Senator Paul Scarr says he is excited about attracting more Indian specialists to Australia, to help boost investment and continue the COVID-19 recovery.
“The new taskforce is wonderful news for our Indian community and integral to Australia’s success,” Senator Scarr says.
“Companies and workers who qualify will have access to streamlined pathways to permanent residency, advice on how and where to relocate, industry-specific contacts and a wide range of visa programs.”
