It was a pleasure to present Sacred Heart School with a new Australian National Flag along with an Aboriginal Flag and a Torres Strait Islander Flag.
We discussed how the design for Australian National Flag was the result of a competition where over 30,000 Australians participated with a 14-year-old schoolboy, Ivor Evans, one of the winners.
I also had the opportunity to answer questions on what it is like being a Senator. Some of the questions were more hard hitting than I get from journalists!
I am sure that there are some potential Senators amongst the students of Sacred Heart School.
