This week more than 100 Queenslanders have been recognised in the King’s Birthday Honours List.
I am very pleased to share that one of those recipients is my good friend, Usha Chandra, who has been awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) for her service to the Indian Australian community.
Through decades of dedication to multicultural engagement, cultural organisations, and community support, Usha has helped build stronger connections across Queensland, including through her involvement with GOPIO Queensland which hosts the iconic India Day Fair.
This recognition highlights the profound impact she has had on our community. Congratulations, Usha!
