This morning, I was honoured to attend the Harmony Cup Cricket 2025 at Marchant Park, Chermside — a fantastic initiative by the Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) celebrating Queensland’s multicultural spirit through the unifying power of cricket. It was a pleasure to deliver a welcome message during the inauguration and cheer on both teams — FICQ XI vs Warehouse Cricket Association of Queensland Representative XI — in what was a spirited and inclusive T20 fixture. Thank you to FICQ for bringing communities together through sport and culture. Events like this remind us that harmony is built not just in policy, but in parks, pitches, and shared experiences.
