What an incredible atmosphere at King George Square for the 2025 Diwali Celebration hosted by the Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland Inc (FICQ)!
It has become a key event in the multicultural calendar of Queensland. It was also wonderful to have the Opposition Leader, the Hon. Sussan Ley in attendance!
This year, organisers were anticipating a turnout of 15,000 people throughout the day.
I also had the honour of acting as the Presiding officer at a citizenship ceremony hosted by FICQ with the support of the wonderful staff of the Department of Home Affairs!
